The craft

From first stitch to custom studio

Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Madeline learned to sew from her grandmother Helen in fourth grade, while her grandmother Gail, known as Zsa-Zsa, introduced her to luxury fashion. After teaching herself to make swimwear, she launched Cook Swimwear in 2016.

Madeline studied Fashion Design at Marist University before moving to New York City in 2023 to work as a technical designer. That experience sharpened the fit, patternmaking, and construction expertise that remains at the core of every custom piece.

In 2025, a leap of faith and a few sketches led to her first custom design for country artist Ella Langley. She has since created pieces for Ella Langley, Carter Faith, and Shantaia, along with clients who want clothing as memorable as the moments it is made for.

Her logo quietly honors the two women who first inspired her love of fashion. Hidden within the design are G and H for Gail and Helen, whose encouragement continues to shape her work.
