The commission process
01
We meet to discuss the vision, references, fabrics, timeline, and how the piece needs to feel. Measurements are taken or provided at this stage.
02
Madeline develops sketches from the shared direction, and the client narrows them down to a favorite design.
03
The selected design is developed as a 3D sketch, then silhouette, details, and fabrics are finalized together.
04
A prototype is created and either shipped to the client or fit in person so proportion, comfort, and movement can be evaluated.
05
Madeline makes the fitting adjustments, finalizes the sewing patterns, and cuts and sews the finished garment.
06
After final payment, the completed one-of-a-kind garment is prepared for pickup or delivery to the client.
TimelineAllow a minimum of four weeks from initial consultation to finished garment. Timing depends on complexity and Madeline's current order schedule.
PaymentA 50% deposit is due after design approval and before prototype work begins. Final payment is due before delivery.
CommunicationClear, consistent communication throughout the process is essential to fit, creative alignment, and client satisfaction.
